Ossipee – The homebrewing community descends on the Lakes Region every second weekend of September for the Homebrewers Jamboree, held annually at the Tamworth Campground in Tamworth. This year marks the Jamboree’s 26th event and will see homebrewers and beer enthusiasts from all over New England, with ticket sales benefiting the Make-A-Wish foundation.
Hobbs Brewing Company sponsors the event and holds an unofficial “Best in Show Competition” each Jamboree; the winner is awarded the opportunity to brew their original recipe in the Hobbs brewhouse the following year, and the beer will be featured on tap at Hobbs Tap Room, Hobbs Tavern, and the Jamboree event.

In late June, Christopher Filleti of South Shore Brew Club, Best in Show Winner at the 25th Annual New England Homebrewers Jamboree, joined Hobbs Brewer Mike Frothingham and Assistant Brewer Casey Rann to brew a batch of his Jamboree-winning recipe in the Hobbs Brew House. This year marks a new tradition, with the brewing of the winning beer moving from the original Tavern brewhouse West Ossipee to the new Hobbs production facility in Ossipee, and the first time a Jamboree-winning recipe will be canned and available for purchase.
Filleti’s beer, JAMBO (named for the festival’s nickname), is a crispy and flavorful German Festbier, and will be available on tap and in cans at Hobbs Tavern & Hobbs Tap Room beginning Thursday, September 7.
